Crawford Henry dead at age 88, American tennis player

Crawford Henry, an American tennis player, died on May 18, 2026, at age 88.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, on May 30, 1937, he was a high school tennis standout in Georgia, winning the state championship each year from freshman through senior and never losing a match. He won the National High School tournament in 1955 and went on to Tulane University, where he was a two-time first-team All-American in 1959 and 1960 and a second-team All-American in 1957.

Henry helped Tulane win the NCAA team title in 1959 and later reached the singles final in Cincinnati in 1960 and won the Blue Gray Championships singles title in Montgomery, Alabama.
