Chris Krug, an American Major League Baseball catcher who played for the Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres, died on January 16, 2026.
Born Everett Ben Krug on December 25, 1939, he was signed by the St. Louis Cardinals as an amateur free agent in 1958.
He appeared in parts of three major league seasons, with the Cubs in 1965 and 1966 after being drafted out of the Cardinals’ system in the 1964 minor league draft, and with the Padres in 1969.
