William Hillary Clarke, a Canadian chartered accountant, businessman and politician, died on December 26, 2025, at age 92.
Clarke served as a Progressive Conservative member of the House of Commons of Canada. Born in Toronto on July 5, 1933, he attended schools in the city’s Forest Hill district, studied at Ridley College in St.
Catharines and St. George’s School in Vancouver, and completed post-secondary studies at the University of British Columbia. He became a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse’s Vancouver office in 1956. Clarke entered national politics in the 1972 Canadian federal election, winning Vancouver Quadra and later being re-elected in 1974, 1979 and 1980.
