Born William Blackburn Cahill in Bellevue, Washington, he played in 19 NFL games from 1973 to 1974, largely on special teams. A graduate of Bellevue High School, he went on to play college football at the University of Washington, where he served as co-captain in his senior season in 1972.
Cahill was selected in the seventh round of the 1973 NFL draft by the New Orleans Saints before making his professional career with Buffalo.
