Béatrice Altariba, the French actress known for roles in Monsieur Robinson Crusoe, Totò Diabolicus and Les Misérables, died on July 14, 2026, aged 87.

Born Béatrice Florence Andree Altariba-Homs in Marseille, she began her career in revues and musical theatre before making her film debut at 17. Active in film from the mid-1950s to 1969, she worked in both French and Italian cinema and was especially remembered for playing Cosette in Les Misérables and Diana in Totò Diabolicus.

Her last French television appearance came in the first episode of The Aeronauts in 1967.
