Born in Baku in 1948, he began his career in 1967 and went on to work at the Azerbaijan State Theatre of Young Spectators before joining the Azerbaijan State Academic Russian Drama Theatre in 1976. There he served first as an actor, later as an assistant director and production director, and became chief director in 1993.
Sharovsky was also recognized as a People’s Artist of Azerbaijan and received several other honors during his career.
