Aleksey Lelin, a Belarusian Olympic high jumper, died on April 19, 2026, at the age of 48.
Born on November 27, 1977, he competed in the men’s high jump at the 2000 Summer Olympics. Lelin reached his first national championship final in 1998, finishing fifth at the Belarusian Indoor Athletics Championships, and won his first Belarusian Athletics Championships title in 2000 with a jump of 2.28 metres.
He also won gold at the 2000 European Cup Second League in the high jump and continued to compete internationally until 2002.
