Aleksandr Borovkov, a Russian mathematician and member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, died on May 15, 2026, at age 95.
Borovkov was born in Moscow on March 6, 1931. He received his Russian candidate degree in 1959 under Andrey Kolmogorov at Moscow State University and his Russian doctorate in 1963.
He was an academician at the Sobolev Institute of Mathematics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and a professor at Novosibirsk State University. His research focused on probability theory, mathematical statistics, and stochastic processes.
