Yishai Levi dead at age 63, Israeli Mizrahi music singer

Yishai Levi, an Israeli Mizrahi music singer, died on June 7, 2026, at the age of 63.

Born in Rosh HaAyin on January 20, 1963, Levi began singing in clubs in Israel in 1983, at a time when Mizrahi performers such as Zohar Argov and Haim Moshe were at their peak. He was discovered by guitarist Moshe Ben-Moshe and released his first album, Hafla With Ben Moshe, in 1986.

Levi later gained wider fame with the song “Raiya” and became a prominent figure in Israeli club music. Also known as Yishay Levi, he was identified with the rise of Mizrahi music in Israel.
