Waldemar Bohdanowicz, a Polish politician who served as mayor of Łódź from 1989 to 1990 and as a senator from 1991 to 1993, died on June 5, 2026.
He was 85. Born Waldemar Antoni Bohdanowicz on June 2, 1941, in Raków, then in the General Government, he was also identified as a trade unionist and a member of the Christian National Union.
Bohdanowicz’s public career included leading Łódź at the end of the 1980s and representing it in the Senate in the early 1990s.
