A native of Oxford, Massachusetts, he was born Anthony Paul Reno on February 9, 1974, and attended Oxford High School before enrolling at Worcester State College, where he played free safety for the Lancers until 1996. After graduating in 1997, he began coaching as a defensive assistant at King’s College in Pennsylvania.
Reno later became head football coach at Yale University, a post he held from 2012 to 2025 before stepping down because of health concerns.
