Tony Mundine, the Australian boxer also known as Anthony William Mundine, died on August 30, 2026, aged 75.

Born in Baryulgil, New South Wales, on June 10, 1951, he was one of Australia’s most accomplished Indigenous fighters and the only Australian boxer to compete professionally in four weight divisions. Mundine won national titles at middleweight, light heavyweight, cruiserweight and heavyweight, and also held Commonwealth middleweight and light heavyweight honors.

In 1974, he challenged for the WBA world middleweight title. The father of former world champion Anthony Mundine, he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia.
