Shirley Raines, an American non-profit founder and community activist, died on January 27, 2026, at age 58.
She founded Beauty 2 the Streetz, a nonprofit that provided hair and makeup services, food, clothing, hygiene and safety items to thousands of homeless people in Skid Row, Los Angeles. Born in Compton, California, on December 29, 1967, Raines was chosen as CNN Hero of the Year in 2021 and received the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Social Media Personality in 2025.
