Sam Goodwin, an American football coach and athletic director, died on March 20, 2026, at the age of 82.
He was born in Pineville, Louisiana, on January 20, 1944. Goodwin served as head football coach at Southern Arkansas University from 1979 to 1980 and at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, from 1983 to 1999.
