Roar Arntzen dead at age 78, Norwegian engineer

Roar Arntzen, a Norwegian engineer, died on June 5, 2026, at the age of 78.

Born on November 23, 1947, he grew up in Rosenborg and Byåsen and earned the siv.ing. degree at the Norwegian Institute of Technology in Trondheim.

Arntzen began his career as a researcher at SINTEF in 1971, later joined Autronica as chief engineer in 1977, and served as chief executive there from 1984 to 1989. He subsequently became director of SINTEF’s Elab-Runit and was a fellow of the Norwegian Academy of Technological Sciences.
