Born in Périgueux on April 4, 1942, he went on to build a long career in fashion and cosmetics. At 17, he was hired by the hairdresser Louis Alexandre Raimon, and in the 1960s he worked on the makeup of figures including Grace Kelly, Jacqueline Kennedy and Sophia Loren.
In 1988, he joined Givenchy, where he created a new line of makeup. He was also known as Olivier Échaudemaison and was awarded the title of Officer of Arts and Letters.
