Morris Soller dead at age 94, public figure

Morris Soller, an AmericanIsraeli agricultural geneticist, died on May 14, 2026.

He was 94 or 95. Soller, whose Hebrew name was Moshe Morris Soller, was born in Manhattan, New York City, in 1931 and served as a research professor in the Department of Genetics of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

His work focused on livestock and crop genetics, including trypanotolerance in cattle. He was first inspired to study genetics at age 12 after reading “The Theory of the Gene” by Thomas Hunt Morgan.
