Max Trenorden, an Australian politician who served in both houses of the Western Australian Parliament, died on August 22, 2026, aged 78.
Born Maxwell Wayne Trenorden on August 1, 1948, in Wyalkatchem, Western Australia, he was educated at Scotch College, Perth. Trenorden represented Avon in the Western Australian Legislative Assembly from 1986 until September 2008, having regained the seat in 1986, and later won election as the Nationals member for the Agricultural Region in the Legislative Council in 2008.
He led the Nationals from 2001 to 2005 before stepping down from the Assembly and continuing his parliamentary career in the upper house.
