
Mark Fuhrman, an American detective known for his role in the O.
J. Simpson murder case, died on May 12, 2026, at the age of 74 from cancer.
He was a former Los Angeles Police Department detective who was primarily associated with the investigation of the 1994 murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. After retiring from the LAPD, Fuhrman wrote true crime books and hosted talk radio. In 1995, he testified about evidence found in the case, including a bloody glove recovered at Simpson’s estate, and later retired from the department that same year. In 1996, he pleaded no contest to perjury for false testimony related to the case.
