Mahbuba Rahman, the Bangladeshi playback singer known for her work in Mukh O Mukhosh and The Day Shall Dawn, died on March 27, 2026, at the age of 91.
Born Mahbuba Hasnat on March 3, 1935, she worked in the film industry during the 1950s and 1960s. She was the playback singer for Mukh O Mukhosh (1956), the first Bengali-language feature film produced in erstwhile East Pakistan, now Bangladesh.
Rahman received the Ekushey Padak in 1998 from the Government of Bangladesh for her contribution to music.
