Ken Shine, an Australian rugby league coach and former rugby player, died on June 4, 2026, aged 78.
Born in Newcastle, New South Wales, on November 22, 1947, he went on to coach the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the National Rugby League. Shine took over after Bob McCarthy stepped down early in the 1994 season, following a strong pre-season in which Souths defeated the Brisbane Broncos 27–26 to win the Tooheys Challenge Cup.
