Suárez served as president and general manager of Telemundo 31, Telemundo 49 and Telemundo 43, and held leadership posts at other Telemundo channels during a media career that spanned more than 25 years. Born José Alberto Suárez in Miami in 1970, he began as a reporter and news anchor in Florida, Ohio and Texas before joining NBC Miami, where he worked in creative services, programming and non-news production.
He also became active with the National Association of Hispanic Journalists in 1998.
