Jorge Gallego, the Colombian footballer better known as Jorge Enrique Ramírez Gallego, died on September 4, 2026, aged 86.
Born in Cali, he began his professional career with Millonarios in 1962 and helped the club to three league titles before a brief spell with Deportes Quindío. He moved to Deportivo Cali in 1965, where he became the club’s all-time leading scorer with 168 goals in nine seasons, and finished his playing career with Deportes Tolima in 1975.
Gallego also made 14 appearances for the Colombia national team between 1966 and 1970, scoring four goals.
