John Damore, an American football player who played offensive lineman for the Chicago Bears, died on August 4, 2026, at age 92.
Born in Riverside, Illinois, on October 20, 1933, he played college football at Northwestern University and was selected by the New York Giants in the 13th round of the 1955 NFL draft. Damore spent two seasons with the Bears, in 1957 and 1959, and missed the 1958 campaign after dislocating his right ankle in a preseason game against the Detroit Lions.
He finished his playing career after the 1959 season and returned to Riverside, Illinois, to manage the family cement construction firm.
