Born in Alençon on October 29, 1946, he earned a doctorate from Paris Dauphine University and taught as an assistant professor at the University of Caen Normandy before moving into television journalism. He joined TF1 in 1997, co-hosting Les Rendez-vous de l’entreprise with Nicolas Beytout from 1997 to 2001, then presenting Les Coulisses de l’économie on his own until 2008.
After leaving TF1 in 2010, he went to i>Télé to host the Sunday economics program Les Clés de l’éco, produced with Les Echos, and later joined RT France in December 2017.
