Jean-Bosco Tchagolé dead, Priest of Sokodé

Jean-Bosco Tchagolé, a Togolese Catholic priest and priest of Sokodé, died on May 27, 2026.

He served in the Diocese of Sokodé and was known for his pastoral ministry in northern Togo as well as for his academic work in canon law. Ordained on July 12, 1980, at Alédjo, he later held several pastoral responsibilities in the Togolese Catholic Church, including serving as parish priest of Christ Lumière du Monde in Kpangalam from 1990 to 1995.

In 1987, he completed a doctoral thesis in canon law at the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome on the concept of marital stability among the Temba of northern Togo compared with Church doctrine.
