Born in the London Borough of Hackney on November 25, 1987, under the name James Luke Newton Walker, he played for Southend United, East Thurrock Community and the Antigua and Barbuda national team. Alongside his football career, Walker worked as a PE teacher at Ramsden Hall Academy in Billericay.

In February 2019, while teaching, he suffered a cardiac arrest and was left with physical and mental impairments, later living in a 24-hour care home in Southend-on-Sea.
