Grekhov was widely regarded as one of the founders of the power semiconductor device industry in the Soviet Union, with recognized contributions to pulsed power devices and converter technique. His honors included the Lenin Prize, the USSR State Prize, the State Prize of the Russian Federation, the Order of Honour, the Order of Friendship of Peoples, the Order of Friendship, and the Russian government prize for science and technology.
