Henri Barki, a Turkish–Canadian social scientist and professor at HEC Montréal, died on May 19, 2026, at age 75.
He was a long-serving member of the Université de Montréal faculty, joining HEC Montréal in 1989 and retiring in June 2017, when he was named professor emeritus. From 2003 to 2017, he held the Canada Research Chair in Information Technology Implementation and Management, and he also served as director of research from 1998 to 2001.
Known in the information systems community, Barki was educated at the University of Western Ontario and published extensively in his field.
