Born Héctor Jose Valle on October 27, 1940, in Vega Baja, he signed with the Dodgers as an amateur free agent in 1960 and reached the majors with the club in 1965. Valle’s big league career was brief but productive: he played nine games for Los Angeles, six of them behind the plate, and hit .308 with four hits in 13 at-bats, one run scored and two runs batted in.
His four major league hits were all singles, and he handled 21 chances without an error for a perfect fielding percentage.
