Hans Chrunak dead at age 76, Swedish swimming coach

Hans Chrunak, the Swedish swimming coach who led the national swim team for nearly a decade, died on June 6, 2026, after battling cancer.

He was 76. Born in 1950 in Landskrona, he coached the Swedish national team from 1991 to 2000 and later served as general manager of the ice hockey club Luleå HF from 2005 to 2007.

Chrunak also coached Helsingborgs SS and worked as a swimming commentator for Sveriges Television. In 2014, he was honored with a stone on the Landskrona Walk of Fame.
