Born in Budapest on December 15, 1949, he built his career with Ferencvárosi TC from 1971 to 1979, helping the club reach the final of the European Cup Winners’ Cup in the 1974/75 season. He later moved to Volán FC in Budapest before finishing his playing career with Waterschei SV Thor in Belgium.
Martos represented Hungary at the 1978 and 1982 World Cups, appearing in six matches as the team exited both tournaments in the first round.
