Gerald Donaldson Canadian racing journalist dead at age 87

Gerald Donaldson, a Canadian racing journalist and biographer who specialized in covering Formula One, died on December 14, 2025, at age 87.

Born in Almonte, Ontario, on July 18, 1938, he wrote more than 20 books, including biographies, and some of his titles were republished multiple times. Donaldson began his career as an advertising copywriter before moving into sports journalism.

He was a member of the Writers‘ Union of Canada.
