A Telugu performer whose career began in 1976, he made his acting debut in K. Balachander’s Anthuleni Katha and won a Nandi Award for best supporting actor for the film. He later received a special jury award for Oka Oori Katha (1977) and went on to act in nearly 40 films as a lead actor.
