Born in Rome on August 1, 1928, he began his career in 1954 and remained active in film production for more than seven decades. Lucisano studied at Sapienza University of Rome and received several honours during his career, including the Order of Merit for Labour, the David di Donatello for Best Producer, the Nastro d’Argento Lifetime Achievement Award and the Superciak d’oro.
In 2005, the Venice International Film Festival mounted a retrospective in his honour titled Homage to Fulvio Lucisano. He died in Rome.
