Francis Teke Lysinge, the Cameroonian Roman Catholic prelate who served as bishop of Mamfe, died on July 29, 2026, aged 87.
Born on December 28, 1938, in Cameroon, he was ordained a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Buea in 1966 and served there until 1999, when Pope John Paul II appointed him bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Mamfe. He was consecrated at Mamfe on April 21, 1999, by Cardinal Christian Wiyghan Tumi, Archbishop of Douala, and retired in January 2014 after Pope Francis accepted his resignation.
He continued as Bishop Emeritus of Mamfe in Cameroon.
