Don Duguid, the Canadian curler who won three Briers and two world championships, died on July 15, 2026, at age 91.
Born Donald Gordon Duguid in Winnipeg on January 25, 1935, he became one of the sport’s leading figures in Canada, capturing the Brier in 1965, 1970 and 1971 and the world title in 1970 and 1971. His 1971 victory made him only the second skip to win back-to-back Briers.
Duguid was later inducted into the Canadian Curling Hall of Fame, Canada‘s Sports Hall of Fame and the World Curling Federation Hall of Fame, and in 2014 he was made a member of the Order of Manitoba.
