Waldeck, an American chemist, died in Invalid Date. Waldeck was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on September 5, 1956.
He earned a BS degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1978 and a PhD in chemistry from the University of Chicago in 1983. After a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley, he joined the University of Pittsburgh in 1985, where he served as a professor in the department of chemistry until 2024. In 2004, he was elected a fellow of the American Physical Society for his contributions to the molecular and electronic origins of friction in chemical reactions and transport processes in liquid solutions, and he was named a distinguished professor in 2024.
