Daniel Costelle dead at age 90, Apocalypse: World War I)

Daniel Costelle, the French documentarist and film director behind the “Apocalypse” series on World War II and World War I, died on June 2, 2026.

He was 90. Born in Livry-Gargan on May 11, 1936, Costelle built a long career in documentary filmmaking, screenwriting and writing.

He was also known for his collaboration with Isabelle Clarke, with whom he co-directed numerous documentaries. Among his notable works was “Apparitions at Fatima,” and he was named a Knight of the Legion of Honour.
