Casey Luna dead at age 95, lieutenant governor of New Mexico

Casey Luna, an American racing team owner and politician who served as lieutenant governor of New Mexico from 1991 to 1995, died on June 2, 2026.

He was 95. Luna was born on May 26, 1931, in Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico, and attended Albuquerque High School.

A businessman as well as a politician, he ran an automobile dealership in Belen and later became the 26th lieutenant governor under Gov. Bruce King. Before winning the office in 1990, he had mounted an unsuccessful bid for lieutenant governor in 1986.
