Born in Rome, she worked for more than 50 years in theatre and cinema, building a career that began onstage in 1967 with Carmelo Bene and later extended across a wide range of productions. She studied scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome before turning to acting, and in 1982 she helped found the interdisciplinary project Zattera di Babele, which brought together figures from theatre, film, music, poetry and the visual arts.
