Carey Scurry, an American basketball player, died on May 18, 2026, at the age of 63.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, on December 4, 1962, he was a 6-foot-7 small forward from Long Island University. Scurry played three seasons in the NBA from 1985 to 1988 with the Utah Jazz and New York Knicks, averaging 4.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
He also played in Greece and Spain. In January 2006, he was named to the Northeast Conference 25th Anniversary Men’s Basketball Team. He was the older brother of Moses Scurry, who played on UNLV’s 1990 NCAA championship team.
