BS Dhaliwal, an Indian Army general, died on May 31, 2026, following a heart attack.
He served as Engineer-in-Chief at Army Headquarters from 2006 to 2007 and had a military career that spanned about 41 years in the Corps of Engineers. During his service, he also held appointments in the Military Engineering Service, the Border Roads Organisation and combat engineering roles.
After retiring from the Army in 2007, Dhaliwal became the first adviser for technical and infrastructure matters to the Chief Minister of Punjab and later worked with engineering, infrastructure and sports organizations. He was commissioned into the Corps of Engineers on December 25, 1966, after studying at the National Defence Academy.
