Khanduri, the Indian politician who served as chief minister of Uttarakhand and as minister of road transport and highways, died on May 19, 2026, at the age of 91. He led Uttarakhand as chief minister from 2007 to 2009 and again from 2011 to 2012.

From 2000 to 2004, he served in Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s cabinet as minister of transport and highways. Khanduri was also a three-time Member of Parliament.
