Blaustein, an American screenwriter and film director, died on May 12, 2026, of pancreatic cancer. He was 72.
Blaustein was best known for writing on Saturday Night Live and for the screenplays for Coming to America, Coming 2 America and The Nutty Professor, all written in collaboration with David Sheffield. He also directed, wrote, produced and narrated the wrestling documentary Beyond the Mat.
