Ana Noovao, a New Zealand netball player and former captain of the national team, died on August 10, 2026, aged 58.
A New Zealand international, she first came to prominence with the College Rifles club in Auckland before being selected for the New Zealand Young International team that toured Canada in 1986. She later joined the under-21 side, made her first appearance for the Silver Ferns on 26 April 1989 and was appointed vice-captain in 1990.
Noovao went on to coach netball as well, including the Cook Islands national team.
