Abdul Ganiyu Ambali dead at age 68, vice chancellor of University of Ilorin

Abdul Ganiyu Ambali, the Nigerian academic who served as vice chancellor of the University of Ilorin from 2012 to 2017, died on June 6, 2026.

He was 68. Born in Ilorin on November 29, 1957, Ambali also worked as a researcher and administrator, and his career included posts at the University of Maiduguri and the University of Ilorin.

He was educated at Ahmadu Bello University and the University of Liverpool.
