Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi, the Yemeni politician who served as president from 2012 to 2022, died on May 28, 2026, of a heart attack.
Born on September 1, 1945, he also served as vice president from 1994 to 2012 and briefly held the defense ministry in 1994. A military officer by training, Hadi was chosen as Yemen’s consensus candidate in the 2012 transition and remained a central figure in the country’s politics for a decade before resigning as president in 2022.
Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi (born 1 September 1945) was a Yemeni politician and onetime military officer who served as the second president of Yemen from 2012 until his resignation in 2022. He previously served as the second vice president of Yemen from 1994 to 2012 under President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
