Zdeněk Hummel, a Czech basketball player and coach, died on March 10, 2026, at the age of 79.
He was a guard for NHKG Ostrava in the first division of the Czech Republic basketball league from 2009 to 2013, and he also played for the Czechoslovakia national team. Hummel was also the team’s assistant coach.
He started his career with VŠ Prague, which won the league in 1966 and finished as vice champions in 1967.
