Yuji Ohno, the Japanese musician and composer known for his work on “Lupin III,” died on May 4, 2026, at the age of 84.
A pianist, orchestrator and keyboard player, he was active from 1968 to 2026 and worked in jazz fusion, jazz, electronic, experimental, new wave and ambient music. Born in Atami, Shizuoka, Japan, on May 30, 1941, he began playing piano in elementary school and taught himself jazz while at Keio University.
He made his recording debut in 1966 backing Hideo Shiraki and Yuzo Kayama.
